How has the EU bailout agreement affected Cyprus-based forex brokers? Do you see many of them going under as a result of the deal?

The EU bailout agreement has had a great impact on Cyprus as a country; all types of businesses have been affected in one way or another. 

April 3rd, 2013 – Cyprus:  Windsor Brokers Ltd., (‘Windsor’) received a new award for ‘Best Introducing Broker Support’, during the 4th Saudi Money Expo & Conference that took place on the 27th and 28th of March 2013.

This is now the 5th award that Windsor receives, for the fourth consecutive year.

Many traders and FX market players are curious about how brokers based in Cyprus are going to manage the consequences from the hard conditions imposed by the Eurogroup for the bailout plan.

What does the Cyprus proposed haircut mean for retail Forex brokers in Cyprus? How would you be affected by the ‘haircut’, the levy and will your clients’ accounts be affected as well?

For sure it has an effect on financial firms in Cyprus. I can summarize this in three words; Uncertainty and lack of Confidence and Trust. Clients are uncertain of the current outcome of this crisis. They are not confident that a good solution for the future of Cyprus can be reached and the longer it takes, clients lose their trust in the Authorities and in Cyprus’ financial system. This has a direct impact on financial institutions that are based in Cyprus.
